Live updates: Shots fired at truck outside Alameda Coast Guard Station amid protest activity
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KGO), – Federal agents are in the Bay Area. However, Mayor Daniel Lurie of San Francisco says that Trump has cancelled any federal deployments to the city.
Protesters met agents as they arrived on Coast Guard Island, Alameda, Thursday morning. CHP officers in riot gear attempted to disperse the protestors near the entrance so that civilian employees could leave. Two people were detained.
It comes a week after Donald Trump threatened to send National Guard troops to the City, and just a few days before Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem talked about plans to deploy federal forces to the City.
