Dept. of Homeland Security considering replacing senior leaders at ICE
Several law enforcement sources say that the Trump administration is thinking about replacing senior field office commanders at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with leaders from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
According to law enforcement authorities, the change would be a sign that the government is trying to get more deportations, which is what the White House has been pushing for.
A law enforcement source told ABC News that border patrol agents could replace as many as 12 field office directors in the next few days.
Corey Lewandowski, Kristi Noem, and Greg Bovino are in charge of all of this. The field offices are in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
At least one federal judge has been angry with Bovino’s actions and called him to testify about possibly ignoring a court order.
Bovino has received accolades from senior DHS authorities within the agency. ICE usually keeps promotions in-house, so this would be a change for them too. On Monday, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin tweeted on X, “This is one team, one fight.” President Trump’s administration, led by @Sec_Noem, is smart and determined to carry out the American people’s order to get rid of criminal illegal aliens in this nation.
