Netanyahu Shares Article Alleging Jeffrey Epstein Claimed Ties to Israeli Intelligence and Election Meddling – Firstpost

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sparked controversy after sharing an article alleging that late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein once had ties to the country’s intelligence services and “claimed to interfere in Israeli elections.”

The Prime Minister posted excerpts from an American socialist publication Jacobean On X (formerly Twitter), promoting long-circulating rumors and bringing them into the political mainstream. The article specifically questions Epstein’s ties to Israeli intelligence, highlighting “long-standing claims and rumors that the billionaire pedophile was an asset or otherwise worked for Israeli intelligence.”

Netanyahu’s post comes after a recent revelation that newly exposed text messages showed that Epstein consulted with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak – Netanyahu’s longtime political foe – during the country’s 2019 parliamentary election.

However, the report itself states that despite the various connections – including Epstein’s friendship with Barak, his numerous trips to Israel, and his Jewish background – “there is no concrete evidence of any connection between Israeli intelligence and Epstein.”

The Israeli Prime Minister’s action comes as the United States Congress took sweeping steps to force the Justice Department to release its full, unredacted files on the Epstein investigation.
